Darlington Training Solutions was set up to look after businesses in the Darlington area who wanted to both develop their sales force and also develop the business. Our business is now based in Yarm area and in fact has supported businesses all over the North of England.

Helping businesses survive following the recession of 2008 required a different focus and we were successful in a wide range of areas to help businesses through this period.

Our prime focus has always been to develop a business and the challenges of the internet have proved as difficult for some business owners as the recession.

The changes in the way the public now make their purchases means that the direct sales forces have had to change and some businesses have moved exclusively to web based selling whilst others manage a balance between the internet alongside a direct sales force. Face to face contact is still extremely important in a number of industries.

In fact a "face to face sale" still forms over 90% of sales in many businesses and internet/telephone sales form 100% of sales in other businesses.

Creating the balance and moving with the times is essential. This is why we exist to help businesses with the transition when needed and provide the knowledge, skills and development coaching needed in the rigorous demands of face to face selling.
We have had this plant for a number of years and it is always just there for you.

A recent survey showed that since the recession of 2008 attributed to the "Banking Crisis" the public's mistrust of sales people has not improved.

The Banks once the most trusted of institutions have fallen from grace and crisis after crisis has followed.

However, it does not have to be this way. There are many highly skilled sales professionals who have a loyal customer base and a custome base who trust them.

Repeat business transacted professionally and correctly is the key.

January 2011

We were introduced to a sole trader about to be closed down by one of the "Largest" Banks. After firstly keeping the business open and not letting the Bank walk over our customer we then put in a plan to develop and build the business. This business is still trading today and we felt it was the right advice to move to a new "Bank" one that we work well with. A Bank who actually do understand small businesses.

December 2014

Whilst helping a small business and understanding the previous problems faced by the business we discovered a number of sales of a certain Banks products which were actually unsuitable. Our client was actually busy 24/7 running her business - which is in fact what business people do. Having our knowledge and skills to sit down to listen and then investigate we applied the right pressure which brought about a cash settlement for our client of £87,500.

March 2016

A successful year for one of the sales teams we have helped. Selling in a large retail outlet needs 3 attributes - Knowledge of the product - Skills in dealing with customers - and the right attitude to listening to the customer and then presenting the correct solution that is affordable. To receive a thank you for a job well done may not seem a lot but it actually means everthing.
